Welcome to Ghost

What an appropriately-named place to host Making Maskwitches.
Going forward, all the behind-the-scenes thoughts and updates will occur here, rather than at the old blog on Substack. Being hitched to SS has caused real problems in regular updates, and I struggled to make time to get off that site, while not really wanting to post to it. As it turns out the migration tools are excellent, and let's just hope this blogging platform can provide a permanent home.

A lot has happened since I last blogged, and there's lots to share, but I don't want to overload you with a heap of new stuff. Hopefully I can get back to regularly sharing the behind the scenes stuff for the next Maskwitches book, and some thoughts I have on some small but noteworthy changes I want to make to the text of the core book. I've going pondered the idea of moving the text as I find out more about the history, and I go back and forth on the idea, but I think... well. Let's talk about that another time.

For now, let's talk about something very cool indeed. Maskwitches of Forgotten Doggerland was nominated in this year's ENnie Awards for Best Art!

It's a fearsome category, so I don't think we have much chance of winning a medal, but your support come voting time will of course be greatly appreciated. And I'm wildly grateful and amazed to the judges that we've been nominated at all. It's a cliché to talk about labours of love, and of course almost all small press games are labours of love. But yup. This is one of those.

Before I go, I haven't yet mentioned the Maskwitches Mask Generator on this blog. It was coded by my friend, Simon Proctor, it's free to use, works on your phone, is a lot of fun, and you can make yourself a whole bunch of sinister or friend-shaped masks. It's over here.

Here's some I just made.
