The eclipse
Regular readers of this column will know of my frustration at missing the Northern lights a while back. When I heard we were due a solar eclipse I was ready.
I got a couple of figures secured to a rocky base and hoisted it up on a cheap tripod (or was it once a music stand? I think maybe it was?) specially adapted for this purpose. As eclipse time drew near I got the figures hoisted up high enough that I could shoot them without seeing any modern structures. I’d have loved to have been able to include the Ochil Hills which are an amazing view I enjoy every day, bit the sun wasn’t playing ball, and for some selfish reason was in a different part of the sky. Nonetheless, I was all set up.

The clouds conspired against me, hiding the most complete parts of the eclipse, but it was still weird and spectacular, and I was happy with the shots I got. I shot over 300 frames in total. Here are my two favourites.
